石阡电视台的前身可追溯至 2002 年 9 月成立的石阡县广播电视台，2015 年 4 月与石阡县对外宣传中心合并为石阡县新闻传媒中心，同年 11 月整合为 “石阡县广播电视台（县新闻传媒中心）”，隶属中共石阡县委宣传部管理，为正科级事业机构。
作为石阡本地重要的主流宣传平台，其核心职能是宣传党的理论和方针政策，围绕县委、县政府中心工作，报道区域重大决策、发展成果与民生热点。旗下拥有《石阡新闻》《石话实说》等自办栏目，同时联动广播、报刊、网站、APP、抖音等多个传播平台，形成立体化宣传格局，为当地群众提供新闻资讯、文化服务与便民信息，助力巩固基层宣传文化阵地。
